There are three practices that ensure the success of writing. One without the others is ineffective. Even two without the third won’t work. All three must be present. So what does the acronym, ADA, stand for?
A is for Ability. This is self evident. In any trade or profession you must have natural ability. Not even 10,000 hours of practice will guarantee success without Ability. D is for Desire. If you don’t want something badly it is unlikely you will achieve it. The third is Application. This is where the 10,000 hours come in though the figure itself is disputable. No one is going to put this much effort in without Desire. And no one will stick at something for long unless one has a natural aptitude.
