Well I Never

gavel

Well I never, said the cat.

Whoever thought it’d end like that.

I thought I had it all sewn up.

But now my past has tripped me up.

I should have run but alas too late.

Twenty years! Banged the magistrate.

    1. Thank you. You are the first person to comment on my blog. I thought it would never happen. I was about to give up. The poem is about a true event very close to home, too painful to write about directly at the moment but like English nursery rhymes best approached obliquely πŸ™‚

      1. It can take a while, I know! I’ve just started my own blog too. I find what helps it to search out others who write things you enjoy and this in return makes them want to check your work out. Don’t give up yet! 😊
I like your approach to the painful event, you have created a whimsical piece out of it. 😊
